“ Tried the spinach and chicken empanadas here - both were seriously delicious. Super flavorful, crispy on the outside, and perfectly filled. I’d absolutely recommend them. Also had the Yemen chai, which was warm, spiced, and comforting - great pairing with the food. The pistachio pastry looked promising, and while the flavor was nice, the inside was a bit dry for my taste. Still enjoyable, but not my favorite item of the bunch. The space itself has a modern vibe with a clear Muslim influence - there’s an ayah from the Quran on the wall, which adds a meaningful touch. The atmosphere is welcoming, respectful, and feels thoughtfully put together. Btw, MOTW stands for “Muslims of the World”. The person working there mentioned it was part of a movement that eventually became a restaurant. The owner wanted to make a statement in a physical space. There are about 15 small rectangular tables, each seating four, so it’s a good spot for small groups or a casual hangout. Lots of positive reviews from others too, and I can see why! ”

“ Loved everything about the cafe. Perfect place for large group people for get together. Large sitting arrangement. Interiorly is simple yet very nice. Modern display of muslim women i find it very cool. I must mention the cafe was exceptionally clean. Small place for all purpose prayer place. Ordered Yemini chai which was good, egyptian tea was okay, tres leches & other savour pastry was good. Make sure to read the MOTW history of their work infront of the washroom. Definitely my fav spot for tea. ”

“ Beautiful ambience, clean cafe, friendly employees, and quick service. We tried the Adeni chai and caramel milk cake. The tea was freshly prepared and perfect; the milk cake was soft, perfectly sweet, and delicious — every bite was heaven. The menu is huge, with lots of variety to choose from. Overall, it was an amazing experience. I would definitely recommend it. ”

“ Really enjoyed my visit here!! I ordered an Iced Haleznut Latte, a Spinach Empanada, and the Pistachio Milk Cake. Everything tasted soo good with lots of bold and rich flavors overall. The coffee was wasn't too bitter or sweet and had an evenly balanced taste with undertones of spice. There also wasn't an overabundance of ice either. The Spinach empanada came warmed and I can only describe the filling as scrumptious. The crust also had a great taste and the entire pastry was prettily made. The pistachio milk cake also DELICIOUS. It wasn't overly soaked and the cake was dense and rich but the pistacio flavor and milk cake aspect also brought a lightness to the dessert. I keep thinking about this cake, that's how good it was. Inside the shop there's a lot of seating with beautiful murals, light fixtures, and other decor. And overall the atmosphere felt very calm and positive. The staff were also super sweet and even asked me if it was my first time visiting. Overall enjoyed my visit and felt very fulfilled with what I purchased, definitely recommend!! ”

“ My sister and I stopped by this coffee shop yesterday. This part might not matter to some, but my 14 year old dog passed away yesterday and I was distraught and needed out of the house...so we chose MOTW because we had never been. When we went in and ordered, the staff were SO kind. I'm sure I looked like a mess...I had my baby with me and I ordered in somewhat of a daze. They were just very friendly regardless of that and I appreciated the kind customer service of each employee. I ordered a seasonal coffee drink, the apple pie latte, a spinach empenada with Sriracha aioli, and a blueberry muffin for my baby. My sister also got a latte, I can't remember which one but I believe it had cardamom in it? Either way, she loved it. The service was quick...they had many unique options for coffee flavors, but also more "traditional" flavors if you aren't into taking flavor risks. I love that there are seasonal options that change. My coffee was sweet but not too sweet, with just the right amount of apple pie flavor vs. Coffee flavor. The empenada was DELICIOUS, and they gave the option for the aioli I got or mango chutney to go with it...plus many other options. They offer halal foods if you eat halal. They had a lot of bakery items as well that I will have to go back and try. They have a water dispenser and I used that for my baby to drink with her muffin. Easy parking in the lot out front, lots of open seating and easy to bring a stroller in. There were people studying/working while there and also friends just sitting and chatting while enjoying coffee. I will go back and I highly recommend trying this place out. “ I originally went to the MOTW in Lombard, and this one is just as nice. Drinks are refreshing, unique (I looooove the Strawberry Matcha), and the pastries are yum. Now you can try Dubai chocolate here too - I'll have to get it next time! Great service, Hooriya & Saad were fast, barely any wait for my drinks!! ”
